We’ve all done things we’ve regretted in the past. That last shot of tequila for the road when you’ve already had enough, the ill-advised text messages you send to your ex, some of us even have regrettable tattoos.
In fact, when it comes to regrettable footballing tattoos, Manchester City fans, it seems, take some beating. So much so that, when the club announced that their badge would be changing from the start of next season, they also announced that they could pay for fans to remove any tattoos they may have of the current badge, the one to be changed.
The internet is awash, frankly, with terrible Manchester City tattoos:
But this one Manchester City fan’s mistake wasn’t really all his own doing. He has a tattoo of former City star Adam Johnson’s signature on his arm, but after Johnson pleaded guilty to child sex offences, it seems this fan is keen to get rid of his tattoo, asking E4 TV show Tattoo Fixers to remove it for him.
We don’t blame him, really. Johnson has been sacked by his club, he has lost his Adidas boot deal and will presumably be fairly toxic after his court case. As far as bad tattoos go, this one isn’t really this fan’s fault, but it’s definitely not one you want to be showing off at parties. Perhaps Man City fans would just be better off not getting tattoos.
