Leeds United could be in the market for a new striker in January as rumours continue to circulate about Eddie Nketiah’s future.
The Whites have apparently got a plan in mind for if the striker is recalled, and it involves potentially moving for a striker who was once sold for £27m.
What’s the story then?
Phil Hay stated in a recent Q&A session with The Athletic that Leeds’ contingency plan if Nketiah is recalled involves potentially looking at the prospect of signing Cenk Tosun from Everton.

“They have a list of potential strikers in place for if Nketiah goes back. Brewster at Liverpool would be one of those.” Hay said.
“I had mention of Tosun at Everton too but he’s involved there at the moment and wouldn’t be cheap in terms of wages.
Hay is right that Tosun wouldn’t be cheap in terms of wages as Capology state that the Turk is on £60k a week at Goodison Park.
Could go either way
The timing of Leeds looking to land the Turkish striker could be brilliant or terrible depending on one thing.
Everton have just sacked Marco Silva, so it remains to be seen whether or not his replacement takes a liking to Tosun or not.

If the next Everton boss likes the look of the 28-year-old, then it is unlikely that we will see him at Elland Road in the near future, but if he falls down the pecking order once the new man is appointed, then there’s a chance that he could join the Whites.
It really all depends on who the Toffees’ next manager is, so if you’re a Leeds fan, it may be worth keeping an eye on who is appointed at Everton and how they lineup during the first few weeks of the new boss’ reign.
In other news, Leeds fans have been blasting one rival boss after some remarks he made about the club.
