According to A Spor, Everton are still interested in signing Yacine Brahimi despite being knocked back in their attempts to bring the Porto attacker to Merseyside in 2016.
What’s the story?
Everton’s interest in Brahimi is not exactly new, with the Toffees strongly linked with a move for the attacker back in 2016.
Last summer was busy for the Merseyside club in terms of spending, and it is understood that they will be extremely active in the next transfer market.
According to A Spor, Everton are ready to battle the likes of Bestikas, Roma and Sevilla for the signature of a player who will be out of contract at Porto in the summer of 2019.
The report claims that the Toffees are confident that Porto will sell at the end of the campaign rather than risk losing the Algeria international, who is valued at £22.5m by transfermarkt.co.uk, for nothing at the end of next season.
What would Brahimi bring to Everton?
Brahimi, who has also previously been linked to Arsenal, has been in fine form for Porto this season, with the 28-year-old managing 10 goals and 10 assists in 44 appearances in all competitions.

In all, the attacker has scored 38 times since joining the Portuguese club from Granada in the summer of 2014, and is on course for his best ever season in front of goal.
Everton have only managed 39 goals in 34 Premier League matches this season, and there is no question that the Toffees need to become more productive in the final third of the field if they are to break into the top six.
Cenk Tosun will fancy his chances of kicking on next season, and the thought of Brahimi, Theo Walcott and Yannick Bolasie supporting the Turkey international is certainly an exciting thought for the Everton supporters.
The Toffees will not be the only club in for Brahimi this summer, but it would be a very smart signing if they managed to pull it off.
