Sheffield Wednesday will be looking to bounce back from Tuesday’s late defeat against Plymouth Argyle when they take on Cheltenham Town at Hillsborough on Saturday.
Darren Moore’s side lost ground in the race for automatic promotion in League One after conceding in stoppage time against the Pilgrims and need three points on Saturday in order to keep pace with Plymouth and Ipswich Town at the top.
Here is how Football FanCast expects Moore to line his side up on Saturday.
David Stockdale has been a mainstay in Moore’s side since signing from Wycombe in the summer and leads the way for the joint-most clean sheets in the league, so he keeps his place.
Moore revealed that Reece James is unlikely to feature after picking up an injury against Plymouth in midweek, so Dominic Iorfa comes in for him at centre-back.
29-year-old Ben Heneghan, who was “tremendous” at Port Vale, also drops out after a less-than-impressive display against the Pilgrims, which saw him earn a poor 6.34 rating from WhoScored.
He is replaced by Mark McGuiness, who Moore confirmed was close to making a return after his recent injury problems.
There is one change in midfield, as George Byers returns in place of Will Vaulks, starting alongside the talismanic Barry Bannan, while Marvin Johnson and Liam Palmer keep their places on the wings.
Finally, Josh Windass starts behind Michael Smith and Tyreeq Bakinson in attack, with the latter keeping his place after a strong display at Home Park on Tuesday, which included an impressive assist for Palmer’s goal.
