Manchester United have been heavily linked with the services of Atletico Madrid’s Antoine Griezmann throughout recent months and the potential deal has been given a seal of approval by Red Devils legend Roy Keane.
The former Irish midfielder was speaking on ITV’s Champions League highlights show, which featured Griezmann in action against Bayer Leverkusen, and the former United skipper was clearly excited by the possibility of the Frenchman moving to Old Trafford.
“He’s been fantastic. I’ve been really shocked at the level he’s playing at over the last two or three years – he’s been fantastic. We’re seeing the goals now on a regular basis, in all the big games, on an international level and big Champions League nights.”
“He’s been linked with United. What a player he’d be for United.”
Just where Griezmann would fit-in at Manchester United remains to be seen as Jose Mourinho’s side have an abundance of attacking talent in the form of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford, whilst veteran captain Wayne Rooney is still on the books.
Should he arrive at United, the Red Devils would have to spend an audacious figure to land his services and Atletico Madrid are desperate for the former Real Sociedad man to stay at the club for another year.
