Gylfi Sigurdsson’s stunning season at Swansea City hasn’t gone unnoticed, even if the Welsh side are currently 18th in the Premier League.
Despite his club edging steadily closer towards relegation to the Championship, the attacking midfielder has been in fantastic form this term, leading the Premier League’s assists charts with eleven and also helping the Swans’ cause with eight goals.
Earlier this week, The Times reported that Everton are keen to whisk the Iceland international away from the Liberty Stadium in the next transfer window, having attempted but ultimately failed in the same mission last summer.
With that in mind, we asked Toffees supporters earlier this week whether they’d back a summer swoop for Sigurdsson and according to the results of our exclusive poll, a staggering 83% would.
It seems more than likely Sigurdsson will leave Swansea this summer, having stood out head and shoulders above the rest of his team-mates for some time now. After such a formidable campaign, however, Everton could well find their interest rivalled by clubs from the Premier League and abroad.
