West Bromwich Albion kept their place at the Championship’s summit with a 2-1 victory over Sheffield Wednesday at the Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.
The Baggies defeated the Owls thanks to an 88th-minute penalty from substitute Charlie Austin.
Slaven Bilic’s men looked to be heading for a point after Steven Fletcher’s spot-kick right before the hour mark cancelled out Hal Robson-Kanu’s sublime tenth-minute opener.
But the 30-year-old remained calm under pressure to fire home just his second goal of the league campaign, giving the west Midlands side a nice five-point cushion from dropping out of an automatic promotion spot.

There was a return to the starting line up at long last for centre-back Ahmed Hegazi after surgery kept him out for the start of the season, but it is safe to say that some supporters were far from happy with his showing.
The Egypt international was handed an opportunity as Bilic was enforced into key changes with Romaine Sawyers and Jake Livermore out through suspension.
One member of the Hawthorns faithful claimed that the 28-year-old looked like the liability they saw in the Premier League, believing that Bilic shouldn’t change up his defence unless he really needs to.
Another fan claimed Hegazi had a nightmare at centre-half while others called him ‘suspect’ and ‘rusty.’
