Speculation in Madrid is currently rife with intense rumours suggesting the departure of current Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti this summer. The latest to chime in on the discussion is iconic former Manchester City striker Aguero, who has absolutely no doubt that one of Europe's most talented young coaches is destined to manage Los Blancos.

Speaking to Stake.com, Aguero said: "I feel like [Xabi Alonso managing Real Madrid] is going to happen eventually. Not sure when. But for a player with his past in Madrid and the good work he put out at the Bundesliga, I think it’s fate."

Even though Ancelotti has a contract with Madrid until 2026, he has overseen a mixed campaign at Santiago Bernabeu. Los Blancos are out of the Champions League after a humiliating 5-1 loss on aggregate to Arsenal in the quarter-finals, while they also trail rivals Barcelona by seven points in La Liga. While Madrid have been linked with Alonso for quite some time, and the rumours have only gained more wind in recent days. It is expected that Alonso will leave Bayer Leverkusen, either this summer or the next one, to join Madrid.
