Per Mertesacker may have struggled to adapt to life on the pitch at Arsenal, but appears to be comfortable away from the field in London.
The giant German centre half, recommended new teammate, and fellow countryman Lukas Podolski takes the underground.
Speaking to The Sun, the 27 year old had this to say on the capital’s transport system, “It’ll be good for Lukas if he uses the London Underground. He will gain fantastic new experiences both sporting and personal by doing this.
“It really helped bring me on, and I think it will do the same for him,” added the German international who will be fighting it out with Thomas Vermaelen and Laurent Koscielny for a starting berth this season.
Podolski is among three new attacking signings hoping to make their full debut at home to Sunderland this Saturday. Arsenal have bolstered their squad this summer with two other exciting additions: in Olivier Giroud and Santi Carzola, as they attempt to end a seven year trophy drought.
